Have you ever heard of a power outfit? I’m not sure if it’s a thing or if I made it up, but similar to a power pose, a power outfit is something that makes you feel a little more powerful on a day when you need it. Monochrome always does it for me and dark colors especially. Navy on navy or an all black outfit has a way of making a person feel invincible. I’ll make an intentional decision to wear something like this on a day when I have to do something hard or if I’m nervous about situation.

Recently I’ve been toying with the idea of power colors. When in doubt, I almost always fall back to black and white. While it doesn’t necessarily have the oomph that all black does, it makes me feel polished and ready to take on the day. Its feels like me, which I think is a big part of feeling confident/capable in what I’m doing. The better and more like myself I feel, the easier it is to tackle the task at hand.

I can already tell this outfit (or a variation of it) is going to be on repeat this spring + summer (and Mae is a nice accessory)! A crisp white blouse with the black overalls just hits the spot. It’s easy, put together, and comfortable. Win-win-win. Do you have a power outfit or power colors?
