Every year around this time I get in a funk. Seasonal Affective Disorder in full swing. This year it’s a self-doubt/lack of inspiration type funk. The good news is, I recognized it almost immediately and made a plan to start tackling it. I’ve already seen an uptick in my mood and outlook, so here are my best recommendations on beating the winter blues.
Read MoreJanuary is always a bit of a weird time of year. You’re coming off the holiday rush and have hopefully rested up for the new year, but there are lots of expectations and things people are working towards. All you want to do is clean and organize your house. Also, it’s freaking dark all the time and if you’re like me, you forgot to start taking your vitamin D when you should have. So in the spirit of some light-hearted fun, here is a list of a few of my current favorite things.
Read MoreThere are tons of high performers who swear by visualizations as part of their success - professional athletes, business titans, entertainers, etc. There is so much power in seeing yourself doing something. It retrains your brain to believe and expect it to be true. It makes it much less of a leap to get from here to there, thereby giving you more drive and willingness to persevere because it doesn’t seem quite as hard as it might have.
Read MoreI already talked a little bit about how my mindset on mornings and why I believe that alignment before action is more effective, but what does that actually mean for my mornings? What does my alignment time look like?
Read MoreI don’t even know where to start with this post because this year has been BONKERS. I started off the year fairly new in my law of attraction journey and was devouring content like it was my job. We got married, traveled, learned a lot, and had so much fun. I left my corporate job, started a blog, Seb started his own business, and we’ve both grown a ton. Here’s a recap of some highlights month by month (though I’m sure the best stuff was in the details).
Read MoreI LOVE a new year. Seriously, probably my favorite time of year after Christmas + summer. As you may know, I used to be a hustler. I loved the idea of working hard + getting shit done. Not that there’s anything inherently wrong in that mentality, but I always reserve the right to change my mind + in light of what I’ve learned about Law of Attraction, that just doesn’t work for me anymore. So you can likely see my dilemma this year since I’ve gone from hustle to flow mentality.
Read MoreNormally, I’m a Christmas decorations until January 1 type of person, but this year I went ahead and swapped out our bar cart before we came home for Christmas so it’s one less thing I have left to do when we get back. Originally, I was thinking about going with a buffalo plaid cocktail napkin and doing heavier decorations, but once I pulled out the champagne glasses and remembered my mini string lights, I knew a simple gold theme was in order.
Read MoreI’ve always noticed it for myself outside of the context of astrology or any other alternative approach. I go through periods of intense motivation and periods of sluggishness. Energetic shifts can have a large impact on your personal energy. It’s the reason that things can go a little haywire at the full moon every month. So I have start researching a little more into what energy shifts are happening. While I definitely don’t think this is a hard and fast rule, I’ve noticed that this particular shift, the winter solstice, has certainly reflected in my personal energy as well.
Read MoreIt’s about this time every year when I feel like I need one more thing for a few people on my list. And of course, that means Amazon Prime! So here are a few things that are great last minute additions to a gift!
Read MoreA sweatshirt is not most people’s go-to for an outfit to wear around town, but they’re warm and comfortable so why not? I wanted to show how I make a sweatshirt less sloppy and more polished for this reason. I think this outfit combo could even work for an office if you swapped out the jeans for a pair of chinos or dress joggers + used a silk button up instead of a flannel.
Read MoreMy mom is an entertainer to the core. Her love language is gift giving and I’m pretty sure her favorite gifts to give are good food and a good time…maybe a good cocktail too. She has turned her party throwing into an art, optimizing every part of our house to best serve the crowd and prepping for days in advance to make sure she’s not too overwhelmed the day of. So I’ve been learning from the best for years and I thought I’d share what I’ve seen + learned.
Read MoreI’ve loved putting together these gift guides, but this is definitely my favorite one yet. The things that I’m most tempted to buy fall into the personal growth category, but I think those are the thing people are most hesitant to buy. I hope these ideas inspire you to encourage the growth and development of any of the self-improvers in your life!
Read MoreSometimes I have a hard time verbalizing my growth and personal changes because they’re not the typical growth path society expects. From the outside, I’ve quit a “successful” career to start a business where I’m not making much money yet. It’s hard to quantify the changes I’ve had in my mentality and overall well-being and I can only say, “I’m wayyyyy happier” so many times before it gets annoying.
Read MoreThis is the disclaimer I always want to give people who are learning about law of attraction, so they don’t assume they can produce a million dollars in their first week: this process seems really simple, but we’re humans and we like to get in our own way so it’s not always easy. We get attached to outcomes and create resistance so that the Universe isn’t able to get what we want to us.
Read MoreI’m learning to enjoy the journey. September and October were so full of growth and new challenges that I was constantly occupied, excited and thriving. November hit and my internal growth slowed (which to me seems like the worst thing ever) and, while I was still chugging along at running the blog, I wasn’t doing much outside of that. I wasn’t inspired to do any of the extra projects I had planned to do. I wasn’t going above and beyond.
Read MoreMy taste tends to be pretty eclectic, but I think that means that everyone who walks in our house can find a little something they like! The same holds true for my holiday decorations. Here are a few of my tips that I apply to holiday decorating and a look at what I’ve got going this year.
Read MoreA law of attraction lifestyle to me means: pursuing my joy and purpose every day, looking for new ways to grow and learn, and intentionally creating the life I want to live. And the truth is, that’s what I set out to do – tell the story of what it really looks like to live a law of attraction lifestyle. I haven’t been doing that so here’s the real truth of the uncomfortable middle.

Whether you’re missing a loved one, experiencing personal struggles or involved in complicated family situations, detoxing after a few days of emotional stress is important. Here are a few reminders for those coming off a difficult holiday.
